The Syrian News Agency (SANA) said that “the meeting witnessed a discussion of bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, the development of bilateral cooperation in various fields of common interest, and the intensification of efforts to explore new horizons for this cooperation, especially in the vital sectors in order to strengthen investment partnerships in these sectors.” .
Al-Assad stressed “the close brotherly relations that unite Syria and the UAE, since the days of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and he noted the objective and correct positions taken by the UAE,” stressing that “the UAE has always stood by the Syrian people.”
SANA said that Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed “stressed the UAE’s support for stabilization efforts in Syria, considering that what happened in it affected all Arab countries, expressing confidence that it is under the leadership of Assad, and the efforts of its people are able to overcome the challenges imposed by the war.”
The UAE foreign minister indicated that “his country is always ready to support the Syrian people.”
The discussion also dealt with the situation on the Arab and regional arenas, and the two parties also agreed to “continue consultation and coordination on various issues and challenges facing the Arab region, in order to achieve the aspirations and will of its peoples away from any external interference.”
