Stellantis says Abarth will have an all-electric model range by 2024. That means one thing: the Fiat 500e gets a sports version.
During the EV-Days of Stellantis, the car group that unites PSA and FCA announced that Abarth will become a 100% electric manufacturer from 2024. That means two things: (1) that in the coming years we will have a lot of special variants of the Abarth 595 and 695 can expect and (2) that the new Fiat 500e will form the basis for an electric Abarth. That then becomes a competitor for the Mini Electric JCW and the R5 Alpine. Now another Type R based on the Honda E and we can organize a horny EV party.
The specs of the Abarth 595e/695e – or whatever that electric version will be called – is still guessing. A more powerful electric motor is the fastest way to more spirited performance, but that extra power eats away at the autonomy. A larger battery offers solace, but puts extra kilos on the scales and thus ruins the driving dynamics…
