The image has triggered the theories about Hideo Kojima and this game, as well as the disgust of the fans.
Blue Box Game Studios has spent almost as much time clarifying that they have no relationship with Kojima or Konami as they have in… well, promoting their game. And is that the Abandoned study has returned to the load on Twitter with a cryptic teaser of his game, which for many players seems to hint at his relationship with a certain renowned Japanese saga. But no, this time it’s not about Silent Hill, it’s about Metal gear.
The teaser in question we show it below, and it consists of a blurred image of a man with a patch, and what seem like fuzzy words at the top as a subtitle, that do not finish distinguishing themselves. Obviously, it took little to no time for fans to establish a relationship with Kojima’s Metal Gear saga in the wake of this image.
Some users believe that the character would be Big Boss (despite the fact that his patch is on the wrong side), while others bet on Old Snake, from Metal Gear Solid 4, whose patch did go over the left eye. Even if there are also those who see Solidus Snake there, who, honestly, would fit much better with the overall silhouette of the character. But most important of all: Are fans trying to see ghosts where there aren’t any?
Or is there really a real relationship between Abandoned and Kojima? The truth is that, if you publish an image like this from the studio’s official profile, after having already hinted at a relationship with other sagas such as Silent Hill in the past, you know perfectly well the reaction you are going to provoke among the fans. We do not know what Blue Box plays with the Abandoned promotional campaign, but we will clear up doubts in a few weeks when the official presentation of the game takes place. And well, we will be up to date these days in case the studio director had to deny his relationship with Konami again.
