The Carcagente goalkeeper, from Granada, will compete with Marc Martínez for a starting position
Cartagena has made the signing of Aarón Escandell Banacloche (Carcagente, 26 years old) official, shortly after terminating with Granada. The incorporation, advanced by LAVERDAD, had been approved by the Cartagena team for days, pending the agreement to end the Valencian’s contract with the Nasrid team. He signs for two seasons, so he will be in the Albinegro team until the end of 2024, just like his competitor in goal Marc Martínez.
The goalkeeper began his career in the bases of Valencia and, later, he signed for the youth team of Málaga. He was in the subsidiary of the Boquerón team since the 2013/14 season, belonging to the Third team for 4 years. There he was the undisputed starter, which led to his joining Recreativo Granada, where he was also a fixture, performing great performances. This prompted his promotion to the first team in the 2018/19 campaign.
From there, he has had to settle for the role of substitute for both Rui Silva and Luis Maximiano. He has played 27 games between the League, Copa del Rey and Europa League in the last four seasons. He had one year left on his contract, but has decided to change teams. He will seek to compete in the next two seasons against Marc Martínez, who last season was a fixture in Luis Carrión’s elevens.
