Genoa – The section that had been closed on the A26 Genoa-Gravellona Toce, between Masone and Ovada in the direction of Alessandria, where an accident occurred shortly after 2pm, was reopened at 4pm. At the event location currently we travel on one lane and at the time of reopening there was a 9km queuedecreasing, towards the North.
The slowdown was caused by a heavy vehicle which, for reasons yet to be ascertained, he hit a tunnel wall. The traffic police and Autostrade technicians are working on site. The driver was not seriously injured.
Autostrade in a note advises users coming from the Ligurian coasts and heading towards Alessandria to use the A7 and then the Predosa-Bettole branch. However, those who are already on the A26 south of Masone are asked to exit at Masone and return to Ovada after traveling along the external roads.
The accident involving the heavy vehicle occurred at km 24 at the construction site inside the “Lagoscuro” tunnel.
