The questioner said that “she is 27 years old, and more than 20 young men proposed to her, but she rejected them, because she was looking for the faults of everyone who proposed to her, and she rejected him on this basis.”
She added, “Frankly, I was convinced that I would slow down in the matter of courtship, and choose the right person without rushing.”
And she continued: “A young man, two years older than me, (29 years), came forward and agreed in principle to the engagement in the presence of the parents, and his family requested that we communicate over the phone, so that we know each other more, before the engagement takes place.”
And she pointed out, “Indeed, we communicated with each other by phone for two weeks, and we set the date for the engagement after a week, but before this date, another young man’s mother came and asked for my engagement to her son, who is a young man more than excellent and hardworking, and any girl would wish, and he is five years older than me (32). year), and I agreed to him and told my family that he is the knight of my dreams, and he has all the qualities I dreamed of.”
She stated that her father is convinced that she is in the ruling on the fiancée of the first young man, and that he gave his family a word, and it is not permissible by Sharia that it be a betrothal upon a sermon.

For his part, Dr. Youssef Al-Sharif said that according to Sharia and the law in such a case, if the sermon hesitates between acceptance and rejection, that he remained silent, or did not decide who is in control of the matter, and of course in such cases, the questioner is the one who accepts the sermon, but the approval It is only from her guardian, and so far the people of the applicant have not met, and he has not given them a word, the sermon is still not valid, or by virtue of the hesitation between acceptance and rejection, and since the questioner changed her mind about the first fiancé, her mother can contact the people of the first fiancé, and inform them to cancel the appointment Specific, and not acceptable to meet him just to make a comparison between the two betrothed.
