In a few days we will get 3 new installments of Yakuza to Xbox: the remasters of Yakuza 3, 4 and 5 that continue the journey of the Dragon of Dojima that began (on Xbox) with Yakuza 0 and the remakes of Yakuza and Yakuza 2. Only The launch of Yakuza 6, which concludes the story of Kazuma Kiryu, would be missing to come to Xbox, which it will do in the month of March. In addition, Yakuza: Like a Dragon was recently released, which begins a new saga, but what RGG Studio seems to be preparing is a new spin-off and not a new installment of Like a Dragon since today A Yakuza spin-off with a new protagonist has been leaked.
This new protagonist is neither more nor less than Ryugi Goda, one of the best-loved and highest-rated antagonists in the entire saga whose only appearance dates back to Yakuza 2 (and its corresponding remake), as well as an online gacha called Yakuza Online that never saw the light outside of Japan.

According to this rumor that collects altchar brings us a screenshot of the developer menu and throws up some insight into what the game is about and why Ryugi Goda is coming back to the fore. According to the leak, the story that this game will follow is based on events from Yakuza Online. In fact, the Goda modeling that we see in the images is quite similar. On the other hand, the game locations would mix places that we visited in Yakuza 5 and 6.
This game would be a spin-off so it would not continue neither the plot of Kiryu (protagonist of the initial saga) nor that of Kasuga (protagonist of Yakuza: Like a Dragon) and could even bring back the beat em up combat of the saga. Obviously this is a rumor and although our work is to report it does not imply that we give it too much veracity, although RGG Studio has us used to several parallel projects: Yakuza 6 and Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami 1 and 2, Judgment and Yakuza Like to Dragon… so who knows, maybe we will have official information about it very soon.
