This Sunday, a wild boar surprised the residents of the Entrevías neighborhood, in the Puente de Vallecas district in Madrid. The wild animal roamed the streets of the area for several minutes, until several residents alerted the police.
The first group of municipal agents that arrived was not able to catch the mammal weighing around 100 kilos, which managed to elude them by lunging at them (climbing on the hood of a car) and then running at full speed.
The police deployment had to be reinforced and, as seen in a second video shared on social networks, 15 officers (joined by the National Police) surrounded the wild boar to hunt it on La Mancha Street. He was shot with sedative darts, but they had no effect.
He even reached the El Pozo Cercanías station across the tracks, and when he was heading towards the M-40 the agents managed to divert him to an open field and shoot him down there with traditional ammunition. In total, the chase lasted more than two hours.
Police sources say that one of the agents even suffered a bite from the animal, so he had to go to the emergency services to evaluate the wound and receive the rabies vaccine.
