As a result of a collision of three cars on Kutuzovsky Prospekt in Moscow, four people were injured, two of them were killed. Famous autoblogger Said Gubdensky and President of the Federation of Automobile and Motorcycle Sports of Dagestan Zaur Ibragimov became the victims of the accident.
The accident was provoked by the BMW M4 Competition, which drove into the oncoming lane and crashed into Volvo and Mercedes cars. Initially, it was reported that four cars were involved in the accident, but this information was not confirmed. As a result of the collision, a man in a BMW was thrown onto the roadway. Two more were trapped in the car.
In the footage taken by CCTV cameras, it is noticeable that during the accident the asphalt was wet after the rain in the capital. A black BMW overtook several cars at high speed, then changed lanes from one lane to another and flew into the oncoming lane. A video was also posted showing the aftermath of the fatal accident.
The culprit of the accident was 28-year-old blogger Said Gubdensky, who was driving a BMW M4 Competition. On his blog at Instagram were signed by almost 500 thousand people. In it, he called himself an entrepreneur and argued that he wanted to become a leader in the Russian auto business.
According to the Moscow prosecutor’s office, earlier Gubdensky was deprived of his rights for violations of traffic rules, and also drove without numbers. The blogger bought a BMW M4 Competition just a week ago. Four days before the accident, he managed to post a video about how he drives a new car.
The cause of the accident on Kutuzovsky Prospekt in Moscow was speeding and “playing checkers” – an attempt to go faster than the speed of the stream, constantly changing from row to row. Gubdensky lost control and drove into the oncoming lane.
BMW driver Said Gubdensky died at the scene. President of the Federation of Automobile and Motorcycle Sports of Dagestan Zaur Ibragimov, who was one of its passengers, was hospitalized in serious condition and died in hospital (according to other information, he died before the arrival of doctors).
As a result of the road accident, two more people received minor injuries: 36-year-old Vladimir Shatun and 32-year-old Aleksey Melnik. The connecting rod received a concussion, and Melnik received multiple superficial injuries and bruises. Both refused hospitalization.
The Mercedes that Gubdensky’s BMW collided with belonged to the entrepreneur Ratmir Timashev. In 2011, Forbes magazine included him in the top 30 leading IT businessmen in Russia; in 2016, Kommersant named Timashev in the list of 100 leading Russian Internet millionaires. In 2018, Fobes estimated his fortune at $ 950 million. It is not known whether he was driving or in the cabin.
