Cybersecurity specialist Andrey Masalovich told how to answer phone calls from suspicious numbers.
In conversation with Lenta.Ru on Wednesday, December 22, the expert advised to confuse the scammers with the question of the ownership of Crimea or a “prayer” that helps to remain vigilant.
First of all, the specialist urged not to answer calls from unknown numbers, but if you still had to pick up the phone, you can ask in a stern voice whose Crimea is: this knocks down the initiative in the conversation and allows you to trace further reactions in order to determine who is calling.
In addition, you can use “prayer” – on a blank piece of paper, write two phrases: “They want to divorce me now” and “I will check it.” These words can be read out loud in any incomprehensible situation.
Earlier on December 22, the head of the cybersecurity business of Tet, Artur Filatov, spoke about the new danger of downloading torrents. According to him, downloading torrents can lead to a computer hacking with an encryption virus, which will require a ransom for saving the files. The expert pointed out that when downloading content through popular torrent trackers, the probability of getting to a fraudulent file that contains malware is 90%.
Also, scammers are interested in using viruses through torrents, in particular, for mining cryptocurrency.
