Miguel Morales (25) went to work like any other day at the bar The Clover, from the Recoleta neighborhood, where he has been a waiter since February of this year. Until there a client arrived who after having breakfast withdrew and forgot on the table a bag with 800 thousand pesos. The waiter put it away and gave it back.
The client is a policeman who is a regular at the bar, located on the corner of Avenida Santa Fe and Uriburu. The man sat at a table that was attended by Miguel and when he left the place he forgot a bag from a supermarket that contained a large sum of money.
When the waiter found her called the manager and delivered it to the box, waiting for the policeman to return to the bar.
El Trébol is located on the corner of Avenida Santa Fe and Uriburu.
“He is a customer who always comes. I know him because I see him often, but we don’t talk much. He came to have breakfast between 10 and 11, but when he got up to leave, he forgot a small bag on the table, “Morales told the Infobae site.
He added: “When I grabbed it, I realized that it was cash, so I took it to the box to be kept and at no time did it open.
An hour later the policeman returned to the bar and was able to find his money that was saved. “When the lord approached I noticed him nervous, like when someone forgets an object of value or the cell phone, “he said.
“He asked me if we had found anything and when I said yes, deep breath. Afterwards, he told me that his head was exploding, because he did not remember where he had left it”, He counted.
Miguel lives in downtown and his wish is to be able to finish his degree and receive himself as math teacher, which he had to leave due to the economic crisis triggered by the coronavirus. “I want to study and finish my teaching career. That is my dream and, in the future, I would like to be able to work as a mathematician”, He highlighted.
The other side of the coin
A week ago the exact opposite happened to Miguel’s solidarity action. Is that a waiter from a renowned restaurant in Comodoro Rivadavia he kept a customer’s card after he paid the bill and made subsequent expenses for 80 thousand pesos.
It is not yet known if the client forgot his card or if the waiter, identified as Elías Cruz (28), directly kept it.
According to the evidence that the justice has so far, the young man used the plastic to make two purchases: one was in a clothing store for 62,300 pesos and minutes later at a children’s clothing store for 16,050 pesos.
The prosecutor Andrea Serer explained during the detention control hearing that the accused was arrested when he was leaving one of the shops located on San Martín Street, in the heart of the city.
As chance would have it meet the restaurant customer, who recognized him and started chasing him while alerting the police. Personnel from the Primera sectional managed to arrest him.
Serer asked that the arrest be declared legal due to the flagrante delicto of the situation and charged the waiter with the crimes of theft in a royal contest with fraud committed with a stolen credit card. This rating has a criminal scale ranging from 1 to 6 years in prison.
The restaurant where he worked decided to fire him immediately.
