A video has appeared showing the moment of a massive accident on a section of the M-11 highway in the Novgorod region involving 50 vehicles on Sunday, January 8. The footage was distributed by the state company Avtodor.
The footage shows how the driver of a car lost control of the car due to weather conditions and crashed into a fence. After this, the remaining cars, moving along the highway, began to crash into each other, creating a massive accident.
Currently, the length of the area where cars have accumulated is 2 km.
An accident near Veliky Novgorod occurred earlier that day. Four people were killed and 16 more were injured. As reported, about 50 cars were involved in the massive accident. A criminal case has been opened.
Traffic in the direction of Moscow is blocked, a detour has been organized at the 545th km of the highway through the federal highway M-10 “Russia”.
