The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelensky, was involved in a traffic accident in kyiv early this Thursday when he was returning from the city of Izium, although he was unharmed. This has been confirmed by the Ukrainian president’s spokesman, Sergei Nikiforov, who has detailed in a statement that a vehicle has crashed into the presidential convoy.
According to Nikiforov, doctors accompanying the Ukrainian president provided emergency aid to the driver of the car, who was then taken to a hospital by ambulance. “The president was examined by a doctor, no serious injuries were found,” the letter reads.

The Ukrainian Police is in charge of investigating the circumstances of the accident, according to the spokesman for the Presidency.
Zelensky had traveled on Wednesday to the town of Izium, located in the Kharkov region and recently “liberated” from Russian troops, where he attended the official flag-raising ceremony.
