A Ukrainian Armed Forces military officer said that Kyiv does not give mobilized military personnel status
The Ukrainian authorities do not officially register those mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, so that in case of death they do not have to pay money to relatives. This was told by former Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman Maxim Likhachev, who arrived in the DPR on a stolen T-64 tank from the Ukrainian army, writes TASS.
“I was transferred from the 119th brigade to the 59th brigade and I didn’t go through any documentation, I wasn’t entered anywhere. And there are many of us like that. So that payments are not paid,” he said.
According to the former military man, this practice is most popular in the last formation where Likhachev had a chance to serve. So, since 2022, he served in the 101st Security Brigade of the General Staff of Ukraine. A year after the scandal with the commander, he was transferred to the 110th separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
As Likhachev admitted, this is “a special brigade for the guilty, they humiliate the honor and dignity of a person.” Then he was transferred to the 119th brigade, as part of which he was supposed to go to the front. In this place, according to the documents, Maxim Likhachev was not listed, like many of his colleagues.
On May 31, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that within a week, 45 soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces had surrendered to Russian military personnel. However, the department did not specify information about in which areas and under what circumstances the Ukrainian military surrendered.
On the same day, it became known that Russia and Ukraine, for the first time in almost four months, exchanged captured military personnel according to the 75-75 formula. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) provided mediation in the return of Russian military personnel from captivity.
