“Izvestia”: a Ukrainian Armed Forces fighter called training before being sent to the front useless
A captured soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Danila Podushko, who served in the 3rd separate assault brigade, called military training before being sent to the front useless. He spoke about this in a conversation with a war correspondent “Izvestia” Dmitry Zimenkin.
He noted that his colleagues got into the army by accident. One of them was caught while going to the store, and the other when he got out of the car. After this, according to Podushko, they were given quick military training and sent to the front.
“It was also about storming trenches, storming buildings, plantings. But the problem is that it is shown once, maybe a couple of times, but is not remembered in any way. And in 35 days this is a stripped down version. It’s just all compressed into this time frame, but nothing fits into this time frame,” said the prisoner.
He noted that there are enough military instructors in Ukraine. At the same time, according to Podushko, local specialists have combat experience, but foreign ones do not.
On May 31, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that within a week, 45 soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces had surrendered to Russian military personnel. However, the department did not specify information about in which areas and under what circumstances the Ukrainian military surrendered.
On the same day, it became known that Russia and Ukraine, for the first time in almost four months, exchanged captured military personnel according to the 75-75 formula. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) provided mediation in the return of Russian military personnel from captivity.
