Under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, the 13th edition of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship kicked off this morning. The first day witnessed exciting competitions between male and female players from different countries of the world. On eleven carpets, amid the shouts and cheers of the masses who gathered in the stands.
The first day of the tournament was attended by players from the categories of children 1, 2, 3, and white and gray belts, and players from the categories of juniors, juniors and youth under 18 years who hold white, gray, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet belts, representing countries and academies from All over the world, in order to be present in the most prominent championship on the international jiu-jitsu arena, and to compete with the world’s elite players to seize the most expensive medals and titles.
The competitions were attended and crowned the winners by Abdel Moneim Al Sayed Mohammed Al Hashemi, President of the UAE and Asian Federations, First Vice President of the International Jujitsu Federation, Dr. Muhammad Ateeq Al Falahi, Secretary General of the Red Crescent Authority, Muhammad Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice President of the Federation, and Muhammad Yousef Al Fahim, Deputy Secretary General of the Crescent Authority Al-Ahmar, Youssef Al-Batran, Member of the Board of Directors of the Federation, Dr. Marwan Al-Kaabi, Acting Executive Director of Operations at the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company “SEHA”, and Fahd Ali Al Shamsi, Secretary General of the Jiu-Jitsu Federation.
Youssef Al-Batran confirmed that Abu Dhabi succeeded in organizing the largest festival for jiu-jitsu players in the world this month, through two championships, the largest on the international scene. Exceptional at all levels, and here we are again receiving thousands of players from the five continents of the world to compete in their favorite tournament, the largest and most massive in terms of prizes and competition, hoping to etch their name in the record of achievements of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship.”
Al-Batran stressed that Abu Dhabi’s success in consolidating its position as the world capital of jiu-jitsu and a destination for heroes is a natural result of the unlimited support and generous care of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, who laid the foundations for the development of jiu-jitsu in the UAE, and made From Abu Dhabi, the capital of the international resolution for this sport.
Al-Batran praised the participation rate in the tournament, which exceeded all expectations, stressing that the importance of this tournament did not come out of nowhere, but rather gained it over more than a decade after its success in creating an ideal environment that attracts fans of this sport, based on the fact that it is a sport with noble values that is reflected in Practitioners who are now adopting it as a way of life.
The players of the Kazakhstan National Team Academy achieved first place with 1843 points, surpassing Al Ain Club, whose players scored 1327, and Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club, which scored 1320 points.
In terms of players, Palms Sports Academy achieved first place with 1,165 points, while Al-Ain players came in second with 1,155 points, and Al-Jazira ranked third with 1,035 points.
