Enjoying racing-themed video games is much easier if you have a workstation with a steering wheel and pedals. Sure, own a simulator technologically advanced series would solve any problem in this sense, but often we run into obstacles of an economic nature. Those who didn’t have a Polish gas station attendant named Adriano, known on Instagram as “simalfaproject_sneyk23″, who had the brilliant idea of ”recycling” two Alfa Romeo of a time, respectively a 159 and a Brera, to give life to a do-it-yourself simulator.
All the elements of Alfa Romeo origin used for the realization of this simulator are originals: the project started with a Logitech G29 racing wheel, around which new components were added month after month one after another. In particular, the passenger compartment comes partly from the sedan and partly from the coupe of the Alfa Romeo house, and includes a large portion of the dashboard complete with instrument panel, air vents and the entire central console. Not only that, the dials, audio head unit and control knobs are illuminated, with a matching orange light on the aluminum pedals creating a very immersive atmosphere when using the simulator in the dark. From a Logitech G29 we then moved on to a multifunction steering wheel coming from an Alfa Romeo Giulia, with various modifications necessary to make it compatible with its new task.
The pedals, steering wheel and gear knob are perfectly working inside the simulator, which means that they have not only been installed to make the workstation more attractive but are also essential for the game. We are talking about a configuration compatible with both the PC and the Playstation: the Polish gas station attendant in question has made it known that his next goal is to ensure that the information on the instrument panel follow those of the gamealthough this step will only be possible with PC games.
