The Union of Utility Consumers of Ukraine announced an increase in electricity tariffs
Within two to three years, electricity tariffs will double in Ukraine, as follows from the commentary of the chairman of the Union of Utility Consumers of the country Oleg Popenko, which refers to TASS.
Taking into account the fact that from June 1, the tariff for the population was set at 4.32 hryvnia ($0.1) per kilowatt-hour, the sharp increase predicted by the expert to the range of 8-9 hryvnia will increase the cost of electricity for Ukrainians by just about twice. Moreover, already in 2025, the cost of a kilowatt-hour for citizens will be 6.5-7 hryvnia.
Earlier, the Republican Center for Combating Disinformation stated that in winter in Ukraine there may be no electricity for 12-20 hours a day, depending on the circumstances. According to the Republic’s Energy Minister German Galushchenko, the country has lost half of its generating capacity. Due to problems with energy generation, the department decided to import electricity from Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary and Moldova.
