It seems that, alongside superheroes, film and television companies are focused on adapting as many video game franchises as possible. In this way, today it was revealed that Binge, a streaming platform that will be available in the future, is already working on a live action series of System Shock.
Although not many details are available at the moment, it has been revealed that Stephen Kick and Larry Kuperman to serve as executive producerswhile Allan Ungar, Binge’s chief content officer, will produce. This is what Ungar commented on the matter:
“System Shock is an iconic franchise adored by gamers for over two decades and a series that helped redefine what it meant to play FPS. We’re excited to do the right thing with the franchise, and the genre, to bring System Shock to life. Get ready for SHODAN ”.
System Shock is a series that began on PC in 1994, and has a legacy that is remembered to this day. Notably, this franchise served as an inspiration for BioShock. Along with this series, Binge is also working on a similar adaptation of Driver, the Ubisoft franchise.
On related issues, Will Pouter will be Adam Warlock in the MCU. In the same way, here you can see the first trailer of the new Scream movie.
Considering that currently there are very few series based on video games, it is difficult to say whether this new proposal will be able to work or not. Similarly, taking into account that this work will reach a streaming platform that is not yet available, the quality of this adaptation also remains to be seen. The potential of System Shock is there, it only remains for those responsible to know how to use it.
