The PP has returned to its usual tactic in the disasters it causes: lying and blaming others. The “reconstruction” begins with a “handmade” contract of 3.9 million euros to a Gürtel construction company. We can’t take this dirty policy anymore. We are all sold out. Fix it
The terrible thing is that 219 people have died and there are still some without names assigned to the list of missing persons. And another 3,000 affected with medical leave as a result of DANA, receiving special protection from Social Security. More than 75,000 homes damaged, with some expected to be demolished, 100,000 cars destroyed, and 2,500 hectares of agriculture and other businesses and livelihoods ruined. And the amount of dirt thrown from the PP on such a balance – which could have been less tragic in terms of lives if they had notified the citizens in time. Neither President Carlos Mazón – absent during the crucial five and a half hours – nor anyone from his team who was waiting for him without doing anything did it on time when the waters were already flooding the towns.
And furthermore, regarding this immense fiasco, this tragedy, the entire PP has returned to its usual tactic in the disasters it causes: blatantly lying and blaming others. Even to the EMU whose performance was decisive even before the Valencian government lifted a finger.
And as if it were not enough that, entrenched in his position, although thousands of Valencians are calling for his resignation, President Mazón has begun the work of “reconstruction” beginning, without any shame, by giving him a “handmade” contract of 3, 9 million euros to Becsa SA, a construction company that confessed in the National Court to be one of the businessmen involved in Fund B of the PP in Gürtel. And another to the firm where his chief of staff worked. And two more, for another four million, to two companies convicted of financing the PP in the Gürtel, as was learned late this Tuesday. Everything stays at home. According to custom, great misfortunes are like a shower of goods for family and friends of the PP leaders. He has also appointed a lieutenant general, with experience in the wars in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo and Afghanistan, as “vice president for Reconstruction.” Carlos Mazón is somewhat peculiar in his behavior since DANA. Or are the ups and downs of Genoa.
It has rained too much in the wet for what happened in Valencia to be allowed to go unpunished once again. Hours of television have turned millions of people inside and outside of Spain into witnesses of the truth of what happened. Their miserable propaganda media trying to sow doubts, with headlines that shame the very spirit of journalism and human decency, is no longer worth it. There are those who apparently believe them: those abducted that they share with the extreme right wing. Just like a large part of those who have supported Trump in his government of dislocation.
The Popular Party has fallen these days into the deepest pits of ignominy. It occurred to someone during the week, out of the blue, that they could try carry the dead –textually– to the Spanish Teresa Ribera as minister in charge of the Hydrographic Confederations –which They worked perfectly in their role.– and prevent her appointment as vice president of the European Commission. It is a relevant position and we already know where the PP houses its patriotism: very close to the wallet, which ends up being its main motivation. It was a pure embarrassment. See appearing on a news program Cuca Gamarra or Tellado or Dolors Monserrat talking about lack of suitability for the position is as if an association of healers allowed themselves to denigrate a Nobel Prize winner in Medicine.
Once the victim is found and according to custom, the PP and its media terminals grab her in their jaws and do not let her go. She is a highly prestigious professional and is cited in international media. But that is not relevant for the PP, which continued to increase the ball.
If Mazón is pathetic in his lies, listening to Feijóo makes the blood run cold. Undaunted, he lies and accuses. It takes enormous shamelessness to blame the Government for “manifest indolence” while their man in Valencia was celebrating, having a drink and a cigar of euphoria (as the mayor of Cullera appreciated in the unusual call he received from Mazón). There are, let us insist, 219 dead, and the sick, and the irrecoverable loss of life. What audacity. People like that are capable of anything. Actually, we have already seen it. Aznar with the dead of 11M, Ayuso with the sentence to 7,291 elderly people to die of asphyxiation and alone. Some are beginning to understand that endorsing these atrocities over and over again only serves to repeat them and one day it may be their turn or their families.
The manifest indolence It has been and is that of the PP, except to deploy its dirty hunts. The last straw is having transferred the battle to stay alive to Brussels, even if it is about pain and death in Valencia. They have a colleague of the same ilk in the presidency of the EPP group. The German Manfred Weber, from the conservative Christian Social Union, which is only represented in Bavaria.
The contact has been worked on during the many years that the MEP Dolors Monserrat has been there. Manfred Weber wanted Von der Leyen’s position – from the CDU, a much more powerful party – and together with the Spanish Popular Party they saw an opportunity to destroy the Commission, with the excuse of Teresa Ribera. Weber does not have the greatest objection to allying himself with the extreme right, not that the current president rejects them outright either, but there is some difference. In fact, Meloni has already been assimilated as a good fascist and the European socialists are open to bringing in an Italian commissioner to unblock the situation. And that’s how it seems to be, leaving one more blot on the Spanish PP’s account.
The EU, however, languishes with these things when it is most needed in the face of the invective expected from Trump’s United States. And like the famous butterfly whose flapping wings cause cyclones far beyond, Mazón’s food, the very incompetence of his government, Feijóo’s shamelessness and the network drawn in Europe by the less edifying popular ones has been on the verge of destroying the Commission as bit. Bad precedent for the future.
You can’t let all this go. Elegance in the shapes of marrulleros of this caliber is a costly mistake. With Teresa Ribera, Pedro Sánchez, Begoña Gómez, we are all sold. The Government’s failure to act against similar practices directed at Pablo Iglesias and Irene Montero is now paid for. At this moment they are infinitely larger, and the pieces are big game to overthrow the Government and leave it in these rotten hands. It is not known – or yes – where these tactics of the organization to which the PP belongs as the visible head disguised as a political party end up.
We can’t take this dirty politics anymore, these media that degrade journalism, that part of justice that acts on its own, all with the same objective. Look at the United States and what’s coming. Have a minimum vision of the immediate future to notice what is being plotted in Europe. Spain was being an exception and everything is nonsense, look at it, it is not just a matter of the government, it is a matter of everyone. Fix it.
