Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the idea of creating Cossack units in the National Guard, so that a new type of security forces may appear in the country. This was told by the plenipotentiary of the head of state in the North Caucasian Federal District Yuri Chaika, quoted by RIA News…
“I believe that the Cossacks should be a territorial unit of the Russian Guard. This initiative was actually supported by the president, ”he said. Chaika explained that we are talking exclusively about Cossack formations: regiments and battalions. And they will be located directly at the place of residence of the Cossacks.
At the same time, Chaika admitted that so far everything is at the level of an idea. “It is difficult to say how we are implementing it, but we will try to implement it in such a plane,” he stressed.
Earlier it became known that the ancient rituals of the Terek, Kuban and Don Cossacks will be recreated in the Stavropol Territory. They will be recorded on video with appropriate recommendations so that other Cossacks, conducting rituals, can do it as authentically as possible. In total, 10 rituals are going to be revived, and work is planned to begin in the fall.
