Brand Studio for CampoLimpio
The inauguration of the center was on June 30 and the Secretary of Agroindustry of the Nation, Jorge Solmi; the Director of Plant Inspection of the Ministry of Agrarian Development of the Province of Buenos Aires, Carlos Otaegui; the mayor of Junín, Pablo Petrecca; Ignacio Stegmann, executive director along with other authorities of the CampoLimpio association; provincial legislators; municipal authorities; representatives of intermediate institutions of the city and recuperators who work daily in the Sanitary Landfill.
The inauguration of the Transitory Storage Center (CAT) of empty phytosanitary containers, which already operates in the Junín Sanitary Landfill, has the purpose of granting adequate management and a sustainable destination to the containers used and thus comply with the regulations of Law No. 27,279 and Decree 134/48.
The project came to fruition thanks to the joint work of the CampoLimpio association, the company EVA SA, the national, provincial and municipal authorities.
Jorge Solmi, Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Nation, said: “As a small neighboring producer of Pergamino, it is very important that we have a CAT at hand and that the containers do not end up in a gutter, a mill and they do so in a transit to recycling. It is a path that we have to travel, which is a long way off and it is necessary to expand and involve us all. This involves all parties, not only the Campo Limpio association, but also the producers, applicators, and fumigators. We must all commit ourselves to providing an environmental response to today’s needs. From our ministry we are convinced that this requires the combination of public and private, and that these works must be done interjurisdictionally with the provinces and municipalities ”.
“From now on, producers will be able to carry empty phytosanitary containers so that they have a correct treatment. This is part of a comprehensive policy of caring for the environment that we carry out as management, which is based on giving a sustainable destination to each waste we generate and, mainly, a commitment that we assume with future generations ”, stated Pablo Petrecca.
For his part, Ignacio Stegmann, executive director of the “Campo Limpio” organization, said: “We are very happy to inaugurate this CAT in the town of Junín, since it is a very important sector from the productive point of view and is It is essential that we can accompany the development of production with the emphasis placed on environmental care. We continue to deploy the empty container management system throughout the country and this CAT joins another 21 that we already have in Buenos Aires, along with another 8 that we are about to inaugurate. This allows us that all the actors from the national state, government and municipalities, as well as producers, join in and together we can increase the amount of plastic that we recover ”, he highlighted.
The Temporary Storage Center has the purpose of granting adequate management and a sustainable destination to the containers used and thus comply with the regulations of Law No. 27,279 and Decree 134/48.
Stegmann also stated that “last year in the country we collected 1,100,000 kg of plastic, with which we quadrupled what had been collected and this year we will be around 3 million kg. It is a path that we have to walk among all of them to continue growing ”.
Finally, Carlos Otaegui, director of plant control of the Ministry of Agrarian Development of the province of Buenos Aires said: “For us, this phytosanitary waste management is very important because it has to do with the traceability that we have been doing with training, talks and instructions. It is essential that we have many CATs and we know that they are getting closer to the producer, which is going to be very beneficial for everyone ”.
Producers in the province of Buenos Aires can now deliver their empty phytosanitary containers to the new Transitory Storage Center, in the town of Junín. The CAT is located on Ruta Pcial. 65, adjacent to the Parque El Rosedal Cemetery.
This is a new advance in environmental management, product of the joint work of the CampoLimpio association, the company EVA SA, the national, provincial and municipal authorities.
