For the third year in a row, scientists are conducting a census of ground beetles and hoverflies in the Anyui National Park in the Nanai region. The Association of Nature Reserves and National Parks of the Khabarovsk Territory noted that this year was especially rich in discoveries. species of insects new to science and the region.
Thus, said Olga Kuberskaya, head of the sector for monitoring the condition of natural complexes and objects of the Komsomolsky Nature Reserve, this was facilitated by a new method of collecting ground beetles. It involves trampling the grass into water so that objects on the stems float up, and sifting the soil through a special sifter. According to the scientist, she is amazed that in Anyui National Park, unlike other parts of the region, literally every meter is inhabited by some type of ground beetle.
According to the results of the study, in total there are 213 species of ground beetles in the national park. Of these, 14 species are new to the region, previously. they were not found by local entomologists. Another species of ground beetle, Bembidion, is new to science. At the same time, scientists are clarifying the data. several other samples.
As for hover flies, at least 150 species live in the Anyui National Park, three of which were identified in the region for the first time.
