In the Kursk region, a ministry for the restoration of the border area was created after the invasion and attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The governor of the region, Alexey Smirnov, announced this in his Telegram-channel.
“A new Ministry of Reconstruction and Development of the Border Region has been created,” Smirnov said.
In total, three new ministries will appear in the region. Thus, the Ministry of Internal Policy and the Youth Policy Committee will become separate government bodies. In addition, the Committee on Labor and Employment, as well as the Committee on Tariffs and Prices, were transformed into ministries.
Smirnov also announced changes to the structure of the regional government. It will, in particular, include the head of the regional administration, six deputy governors and four deputy prime ministers.
Fighting with Ukrainian troops has continued in the Kursk region since August 6—more than two months have passed since the attack on this region. Since September 10, a large-scale counter-offensive by the Russian army has been underway in the border region.
Earlier, Rodion Miroshnik, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry for the crimes of the Kyiv regime, said that Moscow will force Ukraine to pay for the damage to the Kursk region.
