The Russians are accused of committing crimes under three criminal articles
Alexey, Ioann and Timofey Ashcheulov, in the final version, were charged under three articles of the Criminal Code: attempted treason, an attempt to illegally cross the state border of the Russian Federation by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, and an attempt to participate in the activities of an organization recognized as terrorist.
The materials of the criminal case against the brothers were approved by the Chief Military Prosecutor’s Office and sent to a military court for further consideration on its merits.
The Second Western District Military Court confirmed the receipt of the criminal case against the Ascheulov brothers and clarified that it is not classified as “secret” or “top secret” and will be considered in the open. The date of preliminary hearings in the case and the format for their conduct have not yet been established.
The Ascheulovs have already come to the attention of law enforcement officers
This is not the first time the Ascheulov family has come to the attention of law enforcement agencies. So, in 2014, after the commission visited the priest’s house, nine children from 3 to 17 years old were taken away from him due to the lack of conditions for normal living.
However, two weeks later they were returned back, the parents were offered to move to the village of Ozerki for a while until repairs were carried out in their permanent home, which was recognized as dysfunctional.
In addition, the Lipetsk diocese then reported that Ascheulov had previously been deprived of his parish due to his rude attitude towards parishioners.
Earlier, FSB officers announced an official warning to a former military pilot from the Kaluga region who contacted the Ukrainian side. He, along with another Russian woman, received an assignment from the Security Service of Ukraine to collect information about military installations in the Kaluga and Moscow regions.
