The 67-year-old man was admitted to the Santa Isabel de Villanueva residence and suffered from Alzheimer’s
A farmer who was working on a farm in Ojós last Thursday found a 67-year-old man who had been missing for a month. It was the worker who notified the agents of the Villanueva del Río Segura Local Police.
The deceased, who responded to the initials CT and was of Moroccan origin, was admitted to the Santa Isabel de Villanueva nursing home. On August 4, he was lost after he went outside the residence to smoke.
Police sources confirmed that he had no relatives in the municipality and that he suffered from diabetes and Alzheimer’s.
As soon as his disappearance was known, the Local Police, Civil Guard and Civil Protection of the Ricote Valley began their search. The last clue they had about his whereabouts was that a neighbor saw him sitting in a fig tree behind the Hermitage of San Roque. His intention was to travel to Archena to go to Cartagena, according to sources consulted.
The forensic doctor and the Judicial Police of Cieza proceeded to lift the body to perform an autopsy last Thursday.
