The Civil Guard has opened an investigation into the causes of the fire that occurred in the early hours of this Friday to Saturday in a home in the Cáceres town of Valverde del Fresno, in which a man of about 40 years of age has died.
The fire was recorded around 1:30 a.m. this Saturday, when the 112 Emergency Center alerted of the fire in a house located on Calle Farmacéutico Don José Luis López Carrasco, as reported by the Civil Guard.
As a result of the firethe house that, as detailed by the Provincial Council of Cáceres, was “old” has suffered “significant structural damage” resulting in a “partial collapse” of the roof framework.
A Civil Guard patrol, the continuous care point of Valverde del Fresno, and firefighters from the SEPEI of Coria, have traveled to the scene of the event, a crew that currently remains at the scene awaiting the arrival of the coroner.
The location of the remains of the deceased, whose identification is still pending although the Civil Guard does not rule out the possibility that “it could be the resident of the house”, has occurred during the extinction and debris removal work.
