A man arrested in Manresa (Barcelona) for blinding a minor in one eye in a homophobic attack

The Mossos d’Esquadra arrested a 27-year-old man in Manresa (Barcelona) in the early hours of November 1 following a homophobic attack that left the victim, a minor teenager, blind in one eye.

As Regió 7 has reported and the Mossos d’Esquadra have confirmed to the Catalan News Agency (ACN), the police force received notification of the event around three-thirty in the morning. The detainee allegedly uttered homophobic insults at the teenager, after which he attacked the victim in the face with a blunt object.

The attack led to the minor’s loss of vision in the eye. Upon arriving at the scene, witness statements made it possible to identify the alleged perpetrator of the attack and arrest him on the spot.

The arrested person is charged with a crime of injuries in the area of ​​​​hatred and discrimination. The man was later brought to justice. The victim has reported the facts.
