In Chelyabinsk, police officers stopped the criminal activities of a large drug cartel that was involved in the sale of prohibited substances in the Moscow, Leningrad, Sverdlovsk, Tver, and Tula regions. Lenta.ru was informed about this by the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Chelyabinsk Region.
Members of the Russian National Guard were brought in to detain 38 members of the organized crime group. The suspects include the ringleader and drug dealers. Currently, security forces are looking into the whereabouts of seven more members of the drug cartel. Four will be put on the interstate wanted list.
45 searches were carried out, 24 kilograms of drugs were seized from the detainees, movable property was seized and money was found totaling over 14 million rubles. The organized crime group consisted of Russians, citizens of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The distributors were strictly subordinate to the curators, who provided the dealers with housing, transportation, and communications for the distribution of prohibited substances.
30 members of the organized crime group, along with the leader, were arrested.
On May 3, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that in the Tver region, police officers detained members of an ethnic organized crime group that was involved in drug sales in three regions.
