Japanese hotel cancels Israeli tourist’s booking due to war in Gaza Strip
A hotel in Japan has canceled the booking of an Israeli tourist, citing possible war crimes the Israeli army is committing in the Gaza Strip. About it writes Arab News.
“We regret to note that due to reports of possible war crimes committed by members of the Israel Defense Forces during the conflict in the Gaza Strip between Israel and Palestine, we are unable to accept bookings from individuals who we believe may have connections with the Israeli army,” a Material Hotel manager named Geronimo Geres wrote to the tourist.

The official added that providing accommodation to individuals who “may be involved in hostilities prohibited by international humanitarian law based on the Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols” could put the hotel at risk.
According to the source, Israeli Ambassador to Japan Gilad Cohen sent a complaint to the hotel’s general manager, demanding an explanation and apology for the incident. He also asked that the manager be fired.
In 2022, the Turkish representative of the largest European tour operator TUI sent a letter to hotels in the republic demanding that they cancel the bookings of Russian tourists. Baltic tour operators who cooperate with the company were forced to take such measures.
