A gang that robbed businesses in Puerto Lumbreras falls

Reinaldos explained that the events occurred around 3:00 a.m. last Thursday, January 4, when the agents received a call alerting that a robbery was taking place in a pizzeria located in the Lumbreras district of La Estación.

Immediately, a Local Police patrol, along with another from the Civil Guard, headed to the scene. “Once at the site they were able to observe that there was no one in the establishment, verifying obvious signs that the door of the premises had been forced, with serious damage and being practically open,” said the councilor.

The mayor of Citizen Security clarified that “given the possibility that the perpetrators of the attempted robbery had moved to another place, a patrol began through the different streets of Puerto Lumbreras.” In the search, the agents intercepted, already on a central street in the town, two individuals who matched the description provided in the call, as well as the vehicle in which they were traveling.

Subsequently, these two people were identified and searched. The agents found a balaclava and various tools with which they had allegedly tried to force the doors of the businesses. Next, the agents verified that there was another forced door in another pizzeria on a central street in the town, Reinaldos said.

“These robbery attempts coincide in their 'modus operandi' with others that have occurred in previous days,” according to the mayor, who stressed that the investigation “remains open and it is not ruled out that more arrests may occur.” Finally, Reinaldos congratulated “the Local Police and the Civil Guard for this great intervention, another example of the good work and know-how of our agents.”
