Strong gusts of wind could make it difficult to extinguish the flames
Murcia firefighters, the Regional Fire Extinction and Rescue Consortium, forestry brigades and two helicopters with their respective helicopter brigades are moving to the Carrascoy mountain range where a fire has broken out this Friday.
The 112 Emergency Coordination Center received more than a hundred calls at 11 am from witnesses warning of a forest fire near the Porfido quarry, in the municipality of Alhama. The flames, which affect the mountainside, could be seen from the road from El Palmar to Mazarrón. The strong gusts of wind could be contributing to the spread of the flames through the mountains, as well as making extinction work more difficult.
