A 29-year-old home delivery food delivery man died early this Saturday after being run over by a taxi driver while riding a bicycle on Ciudad de Barcelona Avenue in Madrid, a Madrid Emergency spokesperson told Europa Press.
The events occurred minutes before 5 o'clock at number 194 of the aforementioned road when, for reasons that are being investigated, the taxi hit the bicycle from behind.
As a result of the strong impact, the young man has suffered severe head trauma, pelvic trauma and possibly abdominal and extremity trauma.
Samur-Civil Protection paramedics performed advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) maneuvers on him for more than half an hour, although in the end they were only able to confirm his death.
A psychologist from Samur-Civil Protection has been in charge of communicating the death to the young man's relatives. Municipal Police officers have also attended the scene and carried out alcohol and drug tests on the taxi driver, with negative results, police sources have told Europa Press.
Likewise, the members of this police force have taken charge of the investigation of this rear-end collision to try to determine how the events occurred.
