Maritime Rescue rescued two shipwrecked people on Monday and are looking for more survivors who can be found in the area
Subject to the cages of a fish farm. This is how the workers of a fishing boat found an immigrant who had been shipwrecked from the boat that was transporting him. The fishing boat rescued him and transferred him to the port of San Pedro del Pinatar, where he was treated by a Mobile Emergency Unit and transferred to the hospital with severe hypothermia after more than 40 hours at sea.
It could be one more survivor of the boat that capsized last Sunday. This Monday, two of the passengers were rescued by Salvamento Marítimo also in the waters of San Pedro. These were located swimming and with symptoms of hypothermia, according to Sasemar sources. These castaways informed the rescue services that more people were traveling with them, so the search devices at sea were activated by the Salvamar Draco and the Helimar 223 helicopter.
The Maritime Rescue Coordinating Center has mobilized a Red Cross vessel attached to the Copla Plan based in San Pedro del Pinatar, as well as a Maritime Rescue vessel and helicopter, a Civil Guard helicopter and a helicopter from the General Directorate of Citizen Security and Emergencies with rescue firefighters from the Murcia Region Fire Extinction and Rescue Consortium, to search for more castaways.
