Jerry Seinfeld is a hugely popular American comedian, best known for his award-winning television sitcom “Seinfeld“. The American is a big fan of cars, especially with the Porsche brand stuck on the hood. In fact, among his shows we also remember “Comedians in cars getting coffee“, A format also broadcast by Netflix in which Seinfeld interviews his colleagues, initially making them sit in cars, mostly vintage.
Recently on Bring A Trailer a related announcement appeared to a 2004 Porsche Carrera GT that belonged to Jerry Seinfeldfrom January 2005 until 2011. Subsequently it is sold in Oregon and was acquired by the current owner in 2015. The auction will end on Friday 11 March and has already passed the million and a half dollars after a few hours from the opening of the offers.
The car has a black body with a gray leather interior. It features a 5.7-liter V10 mated to a six-speed manual gearbox with limited-slip differential. Features include offset-width forged magnesium wheels, ceramic composite clutch and brake discs, an electronically operated rear spoiler, air conditioning and a stereo CD Porsche Online Pro.
At the time of the first purchase, the car – including the few added options – was worth $ 448,000. Today, the value has definitely increased, especially as the sale includes a copy of the New York vehicle registration document in the name of Jerry Seinfeld. This added value makes the car truly unique and therefore worthy of being ‘collected’. Seinfeld himself is a collector himself, and numerous vintage Porsches have found space in his garage of wonders. In 2016 there was even an auction (in that of Amelia Island) in which he managed to sell fifteen Porsches, and despite everything it was only a fraction of the cars he owned. On that occasion, thanks to particularly rare models, he managed to raise several million dollars.
