A fake about a “broken” column of Russian equipment near Kiev was exposed on the Web. The photo was distributed on many Telegram channels, but users noticed signs of editing on it.
Two photos were posted on social media. They depict a convoy allegedly before and after shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
However, upon closer examination, you can see that in one picture there are buildings in the background, and in the other – a forest. Also in the photographs, the location of lampposts is different – in one case they stand on the median strip of the highway, in the other – at the side of the road. The location of the billboard and the support under it did not match either.
After Russia launched an operation to protect the republics of Donbass, social media users were faced with a huge amount of fake information. As reported in the Russian departments, the 72nd Center for Information and Psychological Special Operations of Ukraine is responsible for the production of most of it.
The United States and Great Britain participated in the work of the center of information and psychological operations, but so far only Polish influence has been documented. In particular, certificates were found from Polish instructors stating that they trained the staff of the center.
As the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on March 2, “In order to suppress information attacks against Russia, the technological facilities of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the 72nd Main Center for Psychological Operations were hit with precision weapons in Kyiv.
In mid-February, due to the aggravation of the situation in the Donbass as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military, the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics announced the evacuation of the civilian population to the Russian Federation and asked for recognition of independence.
On February 21, Putin signed a corresponding decree. On February 24, he initiated the start of a special operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass. As the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov clarified, the special operation has two goals – the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. According to him, both of these aspects pose a threat to the Russian state and people.
At the same time, on March 6, a representative of one of the competent Russian departments said that Ukraine could soon receive its own nuclear weapons.
