The Ferrari 488 Pista it is certainly one of the most spectacular cars made by the Maranello brand. The heart beats to see it dart, it can be admired even when standing still. You sigh thinking you can drive it. But above all it hurts a lot to see it damaged.
In the United States there is one example of this car that was badly damaged in an accident. The rear part of the yellow Ferrari 488 Pista, visible in the cover photo of the article, has been substantially torn off: half of the bumper, tailgate and diffuser are lost. The rear side panel on the driver’s side is badly dented. There is also visible damage on the front wheel arch. However, the mechanics still seem in good condition: the 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8, which delivers 710 horsepower, is usable. This means that with careful rebuilding, the car can still have its say. and drives the rear wheels. Although the Pista is rarer than the standard 488 GTB, Ferrari has never actually stopped production of the Pista and it is thought that several thousand examples have been built. And exactly for this reason it was auctioned by Copart.
The offers brought the value of the possible sale to € 200,000, about half the original purchase value in the United States. The auction is expected to close early in the morning on July 13th: anyone who manages to buy it could face the great obstacle of repairs. Already a good load of experience, definitely, for a car that had only left the Maranello assembly line in June 2019.
