The talks are scheduled in Cartagena, on the 11th, and in the Northwest municipality on November 18 and 25.
The Brotherhood of Vera Cruz, in collaboration with the Camino de la Cruz Foundation, the Tourism Institute of the Region of Murcia and the municipalities of Caravaca and Cartagena, organizes the II series of conferences ‘Paths of Pilgrimage to Caravaca’, which will have place on November 11, 18 and 25. The program was presented at the Casa de la Cruz by the older brother of the Brotherhood, Luis Melgarejo, and the person in charge of the cycle, José Luis Jorquera. The presentation was attended by the Councilor for Strategic Projects of the Caravaca City Council, José Santiago Villa.
The cycle will start next Friday the 11th at the Museum of the Roman Theater in Cartagena, with the celebration of the first round table, in which the mayor of the port city, Noelia Arroyo; the older brother of the Vera Cruz Brotherhood, Luis Melgarejo, who will present the new pilgrim’s credential and the Caravacensis; the director of Itrem, Juan Francisco Martínez, in charge of exposing the itineraries that constitute the Way of the Cross of Caravaca, as a tool to promote the Holy Year 2024; and the mayor of Caravaca, José Francisco García, who will announce the details of the Pilgrim Reception Center.
On Friday, November 18, the conferences will be held at the Emilio Sáez House of Culture, in Caravaca, where it will be the turn for the testimonies of several pilgrims on the Way of the Cross in Caravaca. Among the experiences that will be announced are the experiences of Anita Ureta, an Argentine pilgrim who traveled the Camino de la Vera Cruz on foot for 22 days.
The last session, on November 25, will also be held at the Caravaca House of Culture and will take place in two acts. Esther Campos will present, by the official chronicler of Caravaca and the Region of Murcia, José Antonio Melgares, her latest novel set on the pilgrimage routes to Caravaca. And, later, a round table will address entrepreneurial projects linked to the road and will include the participation of Juani Fernández, head of the company Naturacea, and Elena Díaz, from Labor Viva.
