Agents of the National Police, in collaboration with the Belgian Police, have dismantled a criminal organization allegedly dedicated to trafficking in human beings for sexual exploitation which operated in Spain and Belgium.
Four victims of Latin American origin have been released in different regions of Belgium, as indicated by the National Police in a press release. For their part, the seven arrested They have been imprisoned, one of them arrested in Spain, and six house searches have been carried out in different provinces.
The police action began in April 2023 when Belgian Police officers had to intervene in a home due to an alleged argument between two women. After that, both stated that they were victims of sexual exploitation.
Located between Spain and Belgium
After the exchange of information between the Belgian Police and agents of the National Police, the investigation began into an organization that operated between both countries with the main purpose of sexual exploitation of women of Colombian origin in different locations in Belgium. The victims arrived and were advertised on different contact websites The organization collected half of the sexual services they performed.
‘Call center’ to serve customers in Spain
The organization was perfectly structured, distributing its functions in different parts of both countries. Specifically, the recruiters and controllers resided in Belgium, while in Spain they were dedicated to publishing advertisements on different websites and receiving calls from clients requesting sexual services and distributing them among the victims. They were also in charge of money laundering. Proof of this is the seizure of 19,000 euros in cash from one of the detainees.
During the investigation, 12 entries and searches were carried out, six of them in different municipalities in Spain (Barakaldo, Tudela, Valencia, Murcia, Jerez de la Frontera and Madrid), obtaining abundant documentation related to the investigation.
Once the members were identified and located, seven people were arrested and imprisoned, one of them in Spain, completely dismantling the criminal organization and obtaining the release of four victims of sexual exploitation in Belgium.
