Javalí Viejo held a charity stew this Sunday, organized by the Association of Chefs of the Region of Murcia, in order to raise funds to help people affected by torrential rains last Monday.
The mayor of Murcia, José Antonio Serrano, visited the hamlet, accompanied by councilors Enrique Lorca, Ainhoa Sánchez, Andrés Guerrero, Juan Vicente Larrosa and by the local mayor, José Francisco Navarro.
The first mayor thanked this solidarity initiative of the Murcian chefs, while showing the “firm will” of the Murcia City Council to grant aid to the affected people, as well as coordinate state aid from the application for a catastrophic area.
Likewise, Serrano visited San Nicolás street, especially affected by the downpour, to learn first-hand about the needs of the affected families.
