Therapist Desai: The habit of drinking coffee after midday has a negative impact on sleep
Physician Poonam Desai has revealed that she never drinks coffee after 12pm. She gave a compelling reason for giving up caffeine after midday in a video that quotes Daily Mirror.
The doctor believes that the habit of drinking coffee can negatively affect sleep. She explained that caffeine is absorbed by the body in five to six hours. “If you drink coffee in the afternoon, then by the time you go to bed, it will still affect the body and affect the ability to fall asleep and the quality of the night’s rest,” Desai said.
The therapist also follows a few simple rules to help her stay healthy. She says she doesn’t drink alcohol, always sleeps at night, doesn’t use plastic utensils for heating in the microwave, and eats a variety of fruits and vegetables every day.
