In June of this year, an agreement between Akron and the San Francisco Regional National Technological University gave rise to Akron School, a project whose main objective is to train in specialties such as CNC (Computerized Numerical Control), MAG – MIG Welding and Robotized Cell Operator to young people interested in learning a trade and inserting themselves in the working world of San Francisco and the region.
The 3 courses, which are free for students and have a total duration of 36 hoursThey are given simultaneously in the different Akron production plants and are in charge of UTN professors, with the support of company collaborators.
Among the 30 registered for this first edition are students from technical schools, workers with an interest in specializing and people without any experience in the aforementioned areas. The great interest and the significant demand from the community once these trainings have been launched allows us to envision a new edition for the future.

From Akron they highlighted: “We see our mission to grow and make growth reflected in concrete actions of service and development of our community. Akron School has challenged us to open our workplaces, share machines and tools, gladly offering our support to UTN teachers ”.
For its part, Mg. Oscar Rete, UTN representative, stated in this regard: “This linking activity allows demonstrating the possibility of transferring knowledge not only theoretical, but also practical, which will enable a group of young people to enter into productive activities in different technologies. This interaction with a leading company in the sector shows us the importance of working together to achieve the same result, which is the development of our society. On the other hand, being part of an AKRON Corporate Social Responsibility activity gratifies and enhances this experience as a whole ”.
The first step is already given. The improvement and specialization in metallurgy, an extremely thriving sector, takes an increasingly prominent role in the city of San Francisco.
