The Emirati student, Lamia Al-Awadi, has been creating drawings from the Emirati heritage and environment on collectibles and their decoration, and has been providing drawing and decoration services to companies and individuals, for nearly a year.
She told “Emirates Today”: “The story of drawing and decoration began with me when I drew for one of my friends on some of her belongings, which impressed her, and she advised me to work in this field,” adding that she had received more than 10 requests via the Internet “online” for drawing, as soon as she started her project. She added that her passion for plastic art made her invent new and modern methods to transform collectibles or murals into artistic paintings that attract viewers, noting that her work is manual, and she uses simple tools, and focuses in her drawings on highlighting the aesthetics of the Emirati heritage and environment, in addition to the drawings that are requested of her. their implementation.
She stated that she is currently studying at the university, majoring in design, in order to develop her skills in the field of drawing and decoration, pointing out that she aims to be a famous painter like the citizen painter Abdul Qadir Rais, and is creative in her hobby in which she makes every effort, and spends most of her time developing and developing her skills in it.
Al-Awadi indicated that she has started participating in specialized national exhibitions so that the public can learn about her works, noting that she recently participated in the “Title Your Art” exhibition, which was organized by three female citizens, recently in Dubai, which was an easy way to communicate directly with members of society.
She stated that she will not be confined to her studies only for a bachelor’s degree, but also plans to study a master’s and doctorate, to specialize more in the field of design and plastic art, continuing: “The support that the daughter of the Emirates receives from our leadership, is the biggest incentive for excellence and continued creativity, in all fields.”
