A cayuco with 231 migrants arrives on its own to Arguineguín (Gran Canaria)

A canoe with 231 migrants on board, including more than 50 minors, arrived by their own means, yesterday afternoon, Sunday, at the Arguineguín dock, in Gran Canaria.

This is the most crowded canoe that the island has received, since the largest so far, in October 2021, carried 198 people. On the island of El Hierro, this figure was surpassed in October of last year with record canoes, such as the one of 320 people, at the moment the largest in the Canary Islands.

The boat It was already located very close to the island, 5.5 kilometers from the coast. The occupants have been treated by the health system of the Canary Islands Emergency Service, Primary Care and the Red Cross.
