There is still much discussion and discussion about the future of the Meazza, which at the moment should be partially demolished after the 2026 Winter Olympic Games (the opening ceremony will take place here) and converted into a “sports and commercial district”, but in the meantime Inter and Milan take another step forward. For months, the Populous project seemed to have a clear advantage over the Manica-Sportium’s Rings of Milan, now the official status is also in the pipeline, which in the intentions of the two companies will arrive by Christmas, therefore in the next 24-48 hours.

From the almost 80 thousand spectators of the Meazza, this will increase to a maximum of 65 thousand in the new stadium. A precise choice, with many more executive seats than today to increase earnings: it is estimated that from 2027 Inter Milan and Milan will be able to derive at least 80 million each year from the stadium. A gallery will surround the entire Cathedral, which will be wrapped in a glass facade and is designed to be the most eco-sustainable facility in Europe. Furthermore, thanks to technological installations, the stadium will become Nerazzurri and Rossoneri depending on the team that will play and will be eco-sustainable. The tunnel will be naturally ventilated and solar panels will be integrated into the roof of the building. A jewel, even if replacing the Meazza will certainly not be an easy task.
