In the Northern Military District zone, the chassis of the T-80 tank was armed with a naval bomb launcher RBU-6000
Russian soldiers in the special operation zone (SVO) armed the tank chassis with the RBU-6000 Smerch-2 rocket launcher. I noticed the photo of the homemade installation Telegram– channel “War History Weapons”.
The photo shows a T-80 with a dismantled turret, which was replaced with a rocket launcher. Also on the vehicle you can see lattice screens that covered the barrels of the RBU and the hull of the tank.
Initially, Smerch-2 was developed to destroy enemy submarines and attack torpedoes. The installation received 12 barrels for throwing RSL-60 bombs weighing 100 kilograms. The firing range of the RBU-6000 is more than five kilometers.
