The victim suffered a severe head injury.
A 35-year-old woman is in a very serious condition after being run over this Saturday morning in Plaza San Ginés in Cartagena by a driver who fled “at high speed,” according to the Coordination Center of emergencies.
The emergency services received from 2:36 a.m. a dozen calls reporting the outrage. The victim was unconscious, in serious condition and in cardiorespiratory arrest, so cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers were started.
Local police officers from the Cartagena City Council, National Police and an ambulance from the Management of Emergency and Health Emergencies 061 (a Mobile Emergency Unit) attended the scene of the event. For her part, the UME health workers treated the affected woman ‘in situ’ and transferred her to the Santa Lucía General University Hospital in Cartagena in a very serious condition and with a strong head injury.
