After the disappointment that was Marvel’s Avengers, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy it hit the market last year, and was met with a positive reception. However, Square Enix has revealed that the sales of this title are lower than expected, although they still do not give up on this game.
Through the most recent fiscal report of the company, it has been revealed that the new work of Eidos Montreal failed to meet the expectations that Square Enix had. Fortunately, the Japanese company plans to implement a series of measures to obtain the greatest amount of profit possible. This was what was said about it:
“Despite good reviews, sales of the game at launch fell short of our initial expectations. However, the initiatives we undertook in November and continue into the new year have resulted in sales growth, and we intend to work to further expand these to offset the title’s slow start.”
This means that we will surely see discounts and price reductions in the future. Although at the moment there is no official information, a report by Jeff Grubb at the end of last year indicated that Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy managed to surpass one million units by November 2021.

Editor’s note:
It’s kind of sad to see that Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, a single player experience, was not as well received as expected. Considering that Marvel’s Avengers continues to receive support, let’s hope that the work of Eidos Montreal will have similar support.
