Less than six months after the launch of Shin Megami Tensei V, Atlus has revealed the next step for the series. This time we are talking about Soul Hackers 2a sequel to the spin-off we originally saw on the SEGA Saturn in 1997. This new installment will be available this year, and will have an international launch.
Soul Hackers 2 Coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC on August 25 in Japan and August 26 in the rest of the world. That’s right, this time there will be no release for Nintendo Switch, which will surprise more than one, since Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers It came to the 3DS in 2013.
This is the description of the sequel:
“A story set in the 21st century, a little further into the future from now.
‘Demon summoners’ live in dark societies and harness the supernatural powers of ‘demons’. And ‘Aion’, a being that watches over the world, detects the coming doom of the world.
To prevent ruin, Ringo and Figue de Aion descend on the human world. They head to protect the two people needed to prevent destruction, but both of them had already been killed.
Ringo deploys Aion’s special ability ‘Soul Hack’ to revive his targets. Working alongside the Devil Summoners, Ringo and Figue pursue a mystery with the future of the world at stake.
Will you be able to prevent the destruction…?”
Along with the normal versions, A special edition for PS4 and PS5 will be available in Japan.which includes a three-disc 30-track album for the spin-off’s 25th anniversary, a 100-page 25th anniversary book with illustrations, interviews, and more, as well as an Aiho-kun figure, and special DLC costumes.

It’s a nice surprise to see a spin-off that started on the Saturn get a new installment. As seen in the trailer, it is seen that Atlus is experimenting with the possibilities offered by the new consoles to take this series, as well as Shin Megami Tensei, to the next level.
