But the French presidency said in a statement that “the Biden-Putin summit can only be held if Russia does not invade Ukraine.”
The Elysee confirmed that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will prepare the summit agenda, during their meeting next Thursday.
The French presidency added that this summit will later be expanded to include “all parties concerned”, and will discuss issues of “security and strategic stability in Europe.”
The statement indicated that the French president will help prepare what will be discussed in the talks between the American and Russian presidents.
